Exhibition: A Mass of Cyborgs by Neo Muyanga
A Mass of Cyborgs deepens Muyanga’s exploration of song as a tool to be deployed, and as catalyst of radical change. The exhibition engages with the sounds that compose the history of protest songs in the Pan-African context, re/introducing them to a U.S. audience. The protagonists in A Mass of Cyborgs are hybrid, marginal figures drawn from centuries of literature emerging from the African Postcolony—historically recurring exiles, jesters, and outsiders are reanimated here as part-cyborg entities of the twenty-first century.
